Local Area Transportation

You can get to the Riestenblik camping or the Ferme de Jean con site in several ways:

  • If you come by train:
    • If you told Sam at which date and time you will arrive at the Heeze station, we will pick you up. If you arrive at the station, you can leave the platform by downward stairs. Go to the left, through the tunnel under the rails, after the tunnel go left again, take the stairs up. Go to the square in front of the station, where the bus stops are. A furmobile will arrive and pick you up
    • You can get to the camping or the con site by bus, see public transportation below.
    • Call a taxi. 040-2263000.

  • If you come by car: print the route description to the camping or the main con site. Below are two extra detailed maps. Tip: save the jpeg files and print them separately. The one to the left shows the Heeze and Leende area, you can see both the camping and the con site, plus the road that connects them. Also the roads to the highways are indicated. To the right is a detailed map of Heeze. For those who pick up furs from the station, the route from the con site to the station is drawn in red. This is the 'official' route to the station, indicated by signs on the main road. A more detailed description of the route to the station is given below.

Public transportation

The Dutch public transportation system uses the 'strippenkaart' ('stripe card') system. Such a card contains a number of stripes. For each trip in a bus or tram, you have to get a stamp by the driver or a stamp machine to devaluate two or more stripes. The number of stripes that is devaluated depends on the travel distance. You can get stipe cards at train stations, post offices, some shops and you can buy one from the driver.
Almost all busses and trams use this system, except for the local area busses. These use a separate stripe card, which is not exchangeable with the general stripe card, and can only be bought in the local area bus. Two of the busses that go to the con sites are local area busses (in Dutch: 'buurt bus').

To get to the camping, do the following:
  • Take the train from Eindhoven to Weert and get off in Heeze. Pass underneath the rails, go to the square in front of the station where the bus stops are. Wait for local area bus 200. This are the times of departure :
    • Mon - Fri: 8.39, 9.39, ..., 17.39
    • Sat: 10.09, 11.09, ..., 16.09
The official bus stop you would have to take is called 'Strijperstraat' in Leende. As you can see on the map above, it is quite a walk to the camping from there. Luckily the bus passes the camping on close distance. If you ask the driver to stop at the 'Paaldijk', he'll probably do that.

To get back from the camping to the Heeze station, go to the Strijperstraat bus stop. These are the times of departure:
    • Mon - Fri: 9:17, 10:17, ..., 17:17
    • Sat: 10:47, 11:47, ..., 16:47
It is not likely that you need this bus back to the station. All guests, including those who arrive by public transportation, will go from the camping to the main con site Saturday at 16:00 hours by car.
To get to the Ferme de Jean con site, there are two options:
  • Take bus 20 from Eindhoven to Heeze. This is a regular bus, which uses the standard stripe card system. Ask the driver to stop at the bus stop 'Ginderover' in Heeze. He'll stop there and announce it. The ride takes about 26 minutes. The map above shows you how to walk: take the 'Industrieweg'; when you cross the railroad, it continues as a path. Continue to the left on the road that passes, the gate to the con site is just to the left again. These are the departure times of the bus:
    • Mon - Fri: 7:35, 8:35, 9:37, 10:37, ..., 14:37, 15:34, 16:34, 17:36, 18:40, 19:40, ..., 21:40, 23:32
    • Sat: 7:58, 8:58, ..., 17:58, 18:57, 19:57, ..., 22:57
    • Sun: 11:57, 12:57, ..., 22:57
  • Go to the Heeze station and take local area bus 158. Ask the driver to stop at the bus stop 'Ginderover'. These are the bus departure times:
    • Mon - Fri: 9:00, 10:30, 12:00, 13:30, 15:00, 16:32, 18:02
    • Sat: 12:00, 13:30, 14:00, 15:30, 17:00
Here are the times for the trip from the Heeze Ginderover bus stop into the city. For furs who don't have a car and don't want to depend on a driver, these busses may come in handy:
  • From Heeze Ginderover to Eindhoven, take bus 20:
    • Mon - Fri: 6.58, 7.58, ..., 18.58, 20.57, 22.57
    • Sat: 7.58, 8.58, ..., 19.58, 22.57
    • Sun: 11.57, 12.57, ..., 22.57
  • From Heeze Ginderover to the Heeze station, take local area bus 158. At the Heeze station, you can take the train to Eindhoven. These are the bus departure times:
    • Mon - Fri: 8.48, 10.18, 11.48, 13.18, 14.48, 16.20, 17.50
    • Sat: 11.48, 13.18, 13.48, 15.18, 16.48
Bus of course ... you can always ask one of the con guests to give you a ride. Or you can even use your feet! :o)

Route to the Heeze station

This is how you drive from the Ferme de Jean con site to the Heeze station:
  • Leaving the con site main gate, go to the left, this road is called 'Het Heike'.
  • On the next junction, go to the right. This is the Leenderweg.
  • Follow this road, after you cross the rails the road is called Stationsstraat, and leads to a roundabout.
  • Continue your current direction after the roundabout (don't turn to the right). This is the Deckerstraat. It makes a turn to the right and is then called Kapelstraat.
  • Continue on this main road through the village. After about one km past the roundabout, there is a small street to the left, called Prins Bernhardlaan. There is a small sign pointing to the NS station, but it is hard to notice. Don't drive too fast.
  • Follow the signs to the station.
If you get more familiar with the village, you can use a shorter route to the station.
