EF3 from the organizer's view.

Well, well ... it has taken me some time to recover. From my (the organizer's) point of view, EF3 was a full success. It cost me lots of nerves, lots of work, and lots of time ... but looking back, I'd say it was very much worth it. Everything went absolutely smoothly. All in all, 59 people from 11 countries showed up, which sets a new little record in the history of the european furry fandom. The food was excellent, the video show was (aside from the heat) absolutely great, and even those two events I'd have least expected to take place, took place with great success: The art show, and the dealer's table. We finally got (more or less spontaneously) enough artwork to cover all four walls of the gym ... more than we had hoped for. And only a few days before the con, Martin Dudman also confirmed that he would come, and bring stuff to sell ... and he truly has the lobes for latinum, if you know what I mean :) Dreamfox also had a table and keeping in mind that this was a very small convention, the sales were great. People literally ripped the stuff out of Martin's and Dreamfox' paws during the first few minutes. The atmosphere was happy and relaxed, and although we had no spectacular special guests, events or workshops, people seemed to have had lots of fun. On Saturday night, I got one big surprise... after being silly-stringed, I was presented with a large "Thank you" sign, on which every guest had put his signature. Tabalon handed me about 500 DM, telling me that everybody had made a little donation, so I can afford my flight to CF9 next year. I've never been so surprised in my entire life, and I was completely speechless.... I don't remember, if I managed to say THANK YOU ... after being thanked so much by everybody, I think NOW is the time to give some thanks back to everybody who helped ... after all, EF3 was not all my own effort, but a result of truly excellent teamwork.

Financial Issues

So, against all odds, we have a plus of 418 DM !! The main reason is, that more people attended than we had expected. We calculated with 45 paying members, 50 maximum ... but 59 people finally showed up! I am going to keep the extra money, and I will give it to whoever is going to host EF #4, as a nice starting capital. If you think that this isn't okay, and that a poll needs to be made what to do with the extra money, let me know. If more than 10 people email me, demanding a poll, so be it :)
