This is the original EuroFurence page, as it appeared at the beginning
of the first furry convention in continental Europe.
EuroFurence 1995
Look out for this sign!
It's where we could place it, showing you the way to EuroFurence. (The
cryptic letters are "Albedo" characters, standing for EuroFurence.)
EuroFurence is a meeting of European furries, organised by unci_narynin
(Tobias Köhler) and Tes-Tui-H'ar (Gerrit Heitsch).
Date
EuroFurence will be held on the weekend from Friday 30th June 1995 to
Monday 3rd July 1995.
Location
EuroFurence will be held in Tes's house at Kaiser-Wilhelm-Koog (north-west
of Hamburg, north of where the Elbe river flows into the North Sea). It is
an old farmhouse with a barn and enough space around it. The next
neighbours are far, so it doesn't matter if we make noise. The sea is not
behind the house, but within walking distance. The landscape is flat, the
most distinctive landmarks are some large wind turbines.

EuroFurence and the homes of some German furries.
Click here to see a detail map of the area around EuroFurence, with some
possible ways to get there if you come with a car from Hamburg.
There are three bedrooms, each with two beds and space for two more people
bringing mat and sleeping-bag, plus some space in the roof level of the
house. You can also bring tents and sleep in the back yard, if you prefer.
Activities
The first thing we'll do is erecting a flagpole in front of the house :)
This should be no big deal as the really hard work (making concrete
foundations) has been done by Tes and unci earlier this year.
Meeting each other in real life is a great thing! So EuroFurence will be a
party, but perhaps more than a relaxicon. We can exchange art and other
furry material, show videos (we will have two video players - you can
bring your cassettes too), we will have an art show too if you bring
something! Tes brings a laptop computer with a modem, so we can have
Internet connectivity from the house, but as we have to call long
distance, it is expensive and should not be too long.
We can go to the sea too - it is not too far away from the house. There
are organised offshore hikes when the sea is low.
If you can bring art, music or videos to make the con more enjoyable, do
so! We will provide the necessary equipment.
Registration
Sorry, we're all booked out! We thought we would get ten people together
perhaps, now we are eighteen! If this continues to expand like this we'll
have to look for a bigger house next year... :)

Money
Taking part in EuroFurence will cost 30 DM, to cover our expenses for food
and such. Please bring your entrance fee as you arrive, and pay `at the
door'. Take care to bring enough German currency (DM) with you (we plan to
go to a pub too) as there will not be any exchange offices nearby.
Weather forecast
According to the weather forecast in ARD breakfast TV on Wednesday 28th
June, it will be warm (over 20 degrees) and sunny on our weekend, with
be totally sure at the coast, but it looks as if it's great weather to do
most of EuroFurence in the garden. We have quite a lot of space out
there...
Have fun!!
This is the picture that all who came to EuroFurence drew of
themselves.
And
here a nice picture that André Heinonen drew after the con.
