[Art Show Bidding Rules]   |   [Art Show FAQ]   |   [Full Art Show Rules]   |   [Art Show Rule Changes]

This page contains an abbreviated FAQ version of the full rule set, to give you a comprehensive overview of the most important points with links to the appropriate paragraphs of the full document. In case of doubt or conflicting interpretations, the full document takes precedence:

By participating in the Art Show, you agree to the full rules!

The Art Show is open for everyone who would like to show his or her art. You don't need to be invited. You will have to register though.

It's free. Eurofurence offers the Art Show as a complimentary service to artists. We do not charge a fee for panels or a percentage of the sales.

One full panel has a size of 2m x 1m. You can also get half a panel (1m x 1m) if you don't need a full one. You can express a request for up to four panels (in steps of half panels) with your registration. The art show reserves the right to limit your panel assignment. We seriously ask you to not register panels at random but give us a realistic estimate of what you need, and return unneeded panels as soon as possible. Due to an increasing number of no-shows, you will now be asked to confirm your request shortly before the convention. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your panel assignment.

Yes. You can order a table instead of or in addition to a panel. Please make sure that your request is included in your registration. Please note that you are responsible for the protection of the artwork yourself. If your art breaks easily, bring a showcase or a cover to discourage patrons who "look with their fingers".

The Art Show displays furry art in the widest sense of the word. Adult art is allowed. However, due to German law, the following topics are not allowed and will be rejected: Nazi symbols, rape, child abuse, "youth porn", bestiality, or excessive violence. Depictions of "messy" fetishes likely to disgust a majority of viewers are strongly discouraged. Please refer to the full document for a thorough discussion on these topics, technical requirements, and other issues.

The medium of your art is up to you. You can also bring artistic photos, glass etchings, plaster casts, etc. You just need to ensure that you display it in a proper way (framed or matted) and that the technical quality of your art reproduction is good.

The Art Show prefers original works, or at least limited prints. If you want to sell unlimited prints, you will need to get a place in the Dealers' Den instead (needs to be booked separately; the Art Show does not handle Dealers' Den requests).

If you're attending EF, just bring your artwork. If you are not attending EF, find an agent to bring in your art for you. We are sorry you cannot mail-in art any more due to past difficulties with customs and the danger of artwork getting lost or damaged in shipping.

But first: Register to reserve a panel. Click here to send a mail to the Art Show Team.
Include the following information:

  • Your full name and snailmail address (and that of your agent, if you have one)
  • Your registration/badge number (or that of your agent) if available
  • Contact information: Email address and/or phone number
  • The number of panels/tables you would like to have in the General section, and the maximum age rating there (nice/G or nude/PG)
  • The number of panels/tables you would like to have in the Mature section, and the maximum age rating there (naughty/R or nasty/X); see here and here)
  • If you have an online gallery, a link please. One of us is a curious cat.

You will receive:

  • A password and user name for your art show account
  • The number of panels you have been assigned
  • The URL for the online Art Show application.

Through your password and user name you can later enter artwork for the show online, and print bidsheets for finished art.

If you need more information, or would like to issue a special request, you are welcome to write a mail to the Art Show managers under the same address.

There is no explicit deadline for registration, but once the panels are all booked, you will end up on the waiting list (waiting for an artist to return an unused panel), and you may not get a free panel any more, so please register as soon as possible.

There are no physical forms to download. Artists' registration for the show is done via email; Artwork registration and bidsheet printing are performed through a specialized web application, for which you will get a link with your registration.

Responsible for all aspects of the Art Show - artist relations, signup, technics, hanging and setup - are Cairyn and Blue_Panther. If you have any questions, just send them a mail to this address. Include "EF 17 Art Show" in the topic to avoid any problems with spam filters.

This is just the short version of the Art Show rules. By participating in the Art Show, you agree to all rules and regulations stated in the full document. Click the "Read more" links for the appropriate detail information. Decisions made by the Art Show managers are final; no discussion. Please play fair and nice, and a lot of fun will be had by all.
