About the site

The youth hostel "Biggesee" is located near the City of Olpe, in northwestern Germany. The location lies within a beautiful landscape of forests and fields, near the lake "Biggesee", a large water reservoir. The site is nicely secluded from any urban civilization, but still easy to reach, both by car and train. There is a train station just two kilometers away, and there's also plenty of parking space.

Some Details

The site has 250 beds, but the kitchen can handle up to 300 guests. We are allowed to use one of the rooms as a makeshift dormitory, so we can accomodate even more than 250 guests, if the extra people can live with some reduced luxury.

There is one large hall with plenty of space to set up benches and a large stage ... and as a bonus, it has a large fireplace! There is place for more than 300 people. We have three large multi-purpose rooms of about 70 m^2 each. There's a couple of smaller rooms, a very nice lounge with fireplace, and two large dining halls. On the outside, there are several places with benches and tables where we could have our BBQ, lots of meadows and playing fields.

A rough overview of the location of the site. For more details, see the links at the bottom of the page.

The main subway switchboard. They've got their own subway which is controlled with those panels! (Just kidding!)
